Co-Presidents:
Jennifer Haggerty has two children and her background is in Human Resources. She is grateful to have the opportunity to work with these families who are facing very tough decisions and be able to make a meaningful difference in their lives. She has seen how those families then “pay it forward” and help others when they can. She is glad to have her children involved in helping as well so that they too learn the importance of giving back.
Alicia Stedman, a mother of four children, has experienced first hand the costly and important role that good hygiene means for babies. She seized the opportunity to stay at home to care for her son and three daughters and feels very privileged to have had that choice. Alicia’s background is in Social Work so Baby Basics is a natural fit and a very fulfilling endeavor. She is passionate about her involvement in Baby Basics, giving back to the community, and being a role model for her children.
Board Members:
Carin Coyne joined the board after feeling a void left by her break from teaching third grade. Carin taught in Framingham, MA for eight years before deciding to stay home with her son. During that time she came to recognize many of the struggles families face in urban living. This knowledge, accompanied by her belief that children who have their basic needs met have a stronger foundation prompted her to get involved with Baby Basics. Carin is thrilled to be in a group that focuses on fundamental needs.
Alisha Harrington is the mother of three young children. She previously was a Public Defender in Philadelphia for several years. Volunteering and public service has always been an important part of Alisha's life, particularly serving groups and organizations that typically don't get a lot of attention. When she moved to the Boston area and heard about Baby Basics she was interested in getting involved, particularly because it provides a basic necessity for babies that many people take for granted.
Alissa Jamison has two children and worked in the field of Education for 9 years, ranging from academic to corporate environments. She holds a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire and an EdM in Corporate Education from Boston University. About her involvement with Baby Basics she says, "Life is about balance. Everyday I benefit from things that I am given by others. Finding ways to give back is a responsibility I take to heart. I can't think of a better way than providing babies with the things they need most."
Amy Kennedy has three children and worked in sales and marketing in the health care field before deciding to be at home as a full time mom. She has been a long time supporter of Baby Basics and is thrilled to be part of the team. Amy is happy to have the opportunity to give back and help families with young children in need.
